Details: Melissa Irwin, a nationally certified Senior Professional in Human Resources with a CA designation, has trained over thousands of supervisors, managers and executives in basic and complex employment skills and techniques and is versatile in her presentation and facilitation techniques. She is equally comfortable discussing employment regulations as well as communication and leadership techniques. The Santa Cruz EAC is pleased to welcome her back, as she has facilitated several of ours and other EAC programs. Melissa has a generalist's perspective of Human Resource Management and works with business owners and managers offering a broad spectrum of consulting services: from the auditing of current and desired practices, to the identification of areas of exposure and opportunity, to the development, implementation and ongoing support of sound employment policies and practices. Whether creating employment policies, conducting training or providing one-on-one consulting, she takes pride in simplifying employment issues for business managers who may lack the time, desire or expertise to address and resolve human resource issues on their own. For the past thirteen years, she has been an HR Consultant with TPO Human Resource Management, a HR consulting firm serving the Monterey Bay Area. Every day managers are faced with having to "investigate" facts and make decisions, and occasionally, they must also "investigate" matters of very serious concern and consequence. This program will focus on practical tips and techniques to take back to the workplace and apply to common-and not so common-situations.
