Details:
The end to any relationship is hard. The end to an employment relationship (whether due to cutbacks or performance issues) may be the hardest, because in addition to the usual emotional component, there is business, ethical, and legal issues. If you manage the termination process correctly—from the first inkling that the relationship isn’t working or that cutbacks may be looming, through the final paycheck—it can actually be a win-win situation (really!). However, if any step is missed or mishandled, you run the risk of everything from lowered morale among remaining staff, to expensive and time-consuming legal entanglements. This seminar will help guide you through the termination minefield and give you the tools to manage this difficult process successfully, safely, and legally.

Kelly Rippolone has been the Human Resources Director for Pearson Education in San Francisco since 2000. She has both a BA degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a BA in Organizational Sociology. She is a certified Paralegal and also has a certificate in Human Resources Management from the Institute for Applied Management & Law, Inc. Pearson Arts & Sciences is a $1.2 billion division of a national and worldwide educational publishing company.
